I'm Going To Be A Full Time Student At Age 26. Is There Cheap Student Health Insurance Out There At My Age? |
I am working part time for a fellowship that I've been with for 3 years and I've always been full time prior. My health insurance is going way up from moving into a part time position. Pre tax at 20 hours a week, I'll have 270 bucks of which about $100 per pay is growing to come out (bi-weekly). Is there anything cheaper for a student? I'm young and don't have alot of health problems, so I don't need alot of coverage.
| Answer: If you are attending a larger medical centre you may be able to get coverage offered by the school. Study the coverage proposal carefully because the plans are customarily limited in their benefits and network. If coverage through the school is not available or too limited I would insinuate a trusted adviser to help you through the process of purchasing health insurance so that you understand what you are purchasing.
