Do I Have To Rebuild A Home Destroyed By Tornado With Insurance Payout? |
Question by Aridozer | Posted in Insurance
My native was destroyed in a tornado. Can I use the insurance money to pay off the mortgage and walk away from the property or do I have to rebuild the where it hurts. All my kids have grown and my wife and I would like to start over in Arizona, but she thinks we are required to rebuild the house of ill repute and then try to sell it if we want to start over.
| Answer: Very unreservedly you are not obligated to rebuild. You would be entitled to receive an Actual Cash Value colonization (Actual Cash value excluding the value of the land). If that settlement is enough to pay off your mortgage then it's "Honey, flock your bags were going to Arizona". |

Will Nationwide Full Coverage Insurance Cover Tornado Damage? |
Question by Harper540 | Posted in Insurance
My mom was at occupation on 4/27 when the tornados came through and devastated our city. Thankfully she is alright, but her car was in toto destroyed. The insurance adjuster hasn't called her back due to them being overwhelmed right now and she terrified that they won't hide her car because it was on private property. She has full coverage from nationwide. Does anyone know if they will or not?
| Answer: "Full Coverage" does NOT hope "fully covered". As long as she has comprehensive coverage, that includes wrap up, and it will cover her, subject to her deductible, up to the VALUE of her car. Not what she paid for it, not the loan balance, but what it's merit. |

Why Do Greedy Tornado Insurance Companies Refuse To Insure Pre-destroyed Homes? |
Question by idiot | Posted in Politics
Answer: Because insurance companies are in the profession of making a profit. It is a business. And there is most probably a high possibility of another tornado in the near coming.
Wouldn't the victims be covered by the governments Earthquake Commission insurance that you pay for in your private insurance. In New Zealand we have 'EQC' insurance that is paid for by the supervision. It covers any natural disasters. Maximum pay out is $100,000 (one hundred thousand dollars). Anything above that is paid |

Will My Insurance Rate Increase After A Tornado Claim? |
Question by karenldee | Posted in Insurance
I recently filed a very rotund claim with my insurance company due to a tree falling on my home during a tornado. The town was declared a misfortune area. I'm wondering whether my insurance will go up due to this claim. I've never filed a homeowners claim before and have been with the same insurance company for over 20 years.
Answer: Well, that's a chock-a-block question.
They aren't allowed to count a 'catastrophic' claim against you, for rating purposes, so it's not this Require that's going to make the rates go up.
However, EVERYONE in your area, will probably see a rate increase, across the quarter, due to this tornado. |

Home Insurance Claim Due To Tornado Damage: Will Insurance Company Agree To Pay Me Instead Of Contractor? |
Question by Independent_guy | Posted in Insurance
Hi, will the insurance visitors agree to pay me say $5,000 instead of paying the contractor directly, and allow me to rental someone else? How does it work technically? I get $5,000, then if I am able to find contractor I like for less say $4,000, I get to keep the excess!? (pls assume example of $5,000 is based on a quote insurance company got from a contractor) THANKS.
Answer: Yes, they will - however, if you have a mortgage on the quarter, the check gets paid jointly to you and the mortgage company. You won't be able to spondulix it - after the work is completed to the mortgage company's satisfaction, they'll release the funds.
If you don't have a mortgage, your drawing will work - and you can keep the difference. You can even do the work yourself - but if you do/get bad work, they won't pay to fix it. |

by Candy Evans
I am researching a yarn on homeowner’s insurance, and what happened last shades of night was like a big mountainous “duh” for me: tornadoes are one act why we have some of the highest rates in the rural area. My parents have had multiple examination leaks/infiltrations over the years and have never had difficulties getting insurance. Have found some intriguing (WT you-be acquainted with-what sort) things thus far: Style Be killed insurance charges more for gay couples. Once you’ve had a sea water disclosure, your home base is almost un-insurable. I scantiness to separate how they do their inanimate object, and also hope for to recognize why they are called “underwriters”. I am also looking to talk to an underwriter from a quality insurance associates, who can oddments anonymous if so desired. Deep down, what are the chances of one getting a explicit hit by a tornado....
