How Much Is Unemployment Insurance?
Question by Allison S | Posted in Insurance
A bantam more than 2 weeks ago I was terminated from my job (without cause). I applied for unemployment insurance and am now waiting on my cheque. I don't recognize how much I'll be getting. I am a Canadian citizen and made approximately $700 per paycheque (every two weeks) at my old job. So how much can I expect to get from unemployment insurance?
...um, I evidently said two weeks. Pay periods are every two weeks. Therefore I was paid approximately $700 every two weeks (after taxes)
Answer: Whew! $700 per pay full stop is quite a bit of money especially if its weekly. Well lets hope Canada's unemployment system doesn't trade like it does in the US because if I were to get fired from my job right now chances are I wouldn't get an unemployment check unless I had a positively really good excuse and even then it would probably take about 8 weeks. To answer your question I don't recollect about canada but where I live you would get about $460 a week because of the high income you earned

Question by victorygirl | Posted in Government
Will their benefits automatically come to an end one they move, or is there a way for them to continue receiving benefits (legally) if they are looking for work in the US? If so, how? Oh, and they have both US and Canadian citizenship.
The point was asked, but no clear answer was given by the govt.

Answer: Hi Mike, I am in Canada, Ontario to be require, and as a tax consultant for the past 27 years, and a former CRA employee (on contract), I can give you some very good reasons for filing your 2006 return tax return.
If you were in receipt of EI for all of 2006, then rest assured that EI would have withheld the correct taxes at documentation, and there would technically be no refund as a result of overpayment of taxes.
However, if you had any income whatsover in 2006, such
