What Is The Going Rate For Boat Insurance?

I was meditative of purchasing a 17 to 24 foot in length crownline boat with a V-8 engine (not safe how big of V-8) and trailer. I have no idea what insurance will run and thought I would ask. Thanks in advance for your answers.

Answer: There are so many variables to reckon with that providing an answer is not easy. Things like your experience, location, where you're universal to be boating, age of the boat/trailer, etc.

A 17, 18, 19 footer with a V-8 may/may not be insurable and considered over powered by some insurance agencies.

Guesstimate? Our 33' cruiser w/ matching V-8's runs us a little more than $1,000 per year. You might figure on maybe $500 - 700 per annum.

I am idea about getting my first boat and was wondering do you have to have boat insurance in SC?

Answer: hindrance insurance will be required. if its a boat that you have financed then the finance company will require it regardless of what state you're in.

I am looking into buying a boat. we have an old boat that has been sitting in our back yard for over five years, and it is entire junk. Is boat insurance required in New York state, and if so, how much would the average annual price be?

Answer: No there is not a law in NY that requires insurance. As stated above if you commerce it the bank will want you to have it but also no matter what your marina will most likely want insurance also. You will want insurance when you return how much you could be on the hook for should you have an accident. As for getting the best price, my home owners insurance could not parallel the price I got from BoatUS. Take a safety course and you should get a discount.

if your boat is usefulness 20000 dollars and insurance company ask what is trailor worth along with boat and you say 35000 dollars. I am paying on that importance and someone told me if boat is stolen the insurance company want pay on what i am paying on. is this true and I am paying for more insurance than I should be .
