Does The Ontario Health Insurance Plan Provide Enough Insurance To The Traveler?

OHIP say they insure you when you are traveling. Is the insurance any friendly? Or do i need extra private travel insurance?

Answer: Positively not. The moment you step out of Ontario, ambulance services are NOT covered. (even in Canada) Those can lot from hundreds of dollars to thousands and thousands if you are airlifted. (why skiers dont get accessory insurance is beyond me...)

Also, outside Canada OHIP only covers the medically necessary bills...up to what they would normally pay here in Ontario. Any inequality between what you are charged is what your extra insurance will pay.

Traveler's Insurance And Health Insurance?

I'm traveling to The Netherlands, this is usual to be my first flight and I know that I need medical insurance. Like most Americans, I don't have health insurance for various reasons; like it being unsympathetic to obtain in "the land of the (not so) free."

Question is; What's the difference between Heath Insurance and Traveler's Insurance? If the traveler's insurance I get covers medical, emergencies, etc, do I still privation to get health?

Also~Side Question:

Answer: I entertain the idea you best get a travel insurance that also covers Health while abroad. That does cover emergency treatment, but no fixed health coverage. It will, likely, also cover bringing you back home after health problems.
