Does anybody discern of a website that allows you to search for all of the insurance companies in a given area?

Sorry I should have been more remove, I was thinking more along the lines of an actuarial job search.

Answer: You can find a roll of all insurers licensed to do business in your state, on your state insurance department website. It's a Vast search.

Or, if you're looking for something in particular, you should go find a local, independent agent, who can find a company for you.

MOST insurance companies do NOT write policies in a little while for someone. Most of the time, you HAVE to go through an agent.
 
 

Can An Insurance Company Search Your Credit Report Without Permission?

I phoned up an insurance company who I have my car insured with and asked for a instance to insure another car I was considering buying. When they told me the quote I said that I could not go through with it. However today I get an alert from Experian tattling me that my credit report has been checked by the insurance company. I was not asked permission on the phone for this! Is this legal?

Answer: It is base around here but there are two types of inquiries - hard and soft. For insurance it is a soft inquiry so you don't lose points, etc. Moderately much any company can do that - cable company, cell phone company, etc. It's the hard inquiries that affect your credit and that they indigence your permission for. So verify which type. If it's a hard inquiry, start with the insurance company and ask them to fix it.

I dynamic in Ontario and my licence has been suspended for three years due to traffic infractions. I will be applying for insurance pronto and I was wondering what to expect. When answering, if at all posssible please give my a link.

Answer: If your DL is suspended, you can not get insurance. If it has been reinstated then you'll be in want of a letter from the local DMV.
