How Much Of A Discount A Small Group Employer Get On My Health Insurance?

If I was quoted $1100 a month for distinct health insurance (Premera Blue Cross) buying it myself would my small employer get a big discount if they buy it for me. How much roughly would he pay?

Answer: Unit plans are fundamentally different from individual plans. An employer can "shop around" for quotes from several health insurers based on the magnitude of it's "group." This is what commercial insurance brokers do. The employer is not going to buy the same lone plan you were offered.

I am out of industry and need health insurance. I got a quote through esurance for $1098 a month for individual coverage from blue cross. Can anyone stand up for something a little more reasonable.

I want regular medical insurance not a "savings down" or "reduced fee plans"

What Is The Best Health Insurance Provider?

My mollify and I are self-employed and our health insurance from our previous employer is being terminated 04/01. We need a low stiff, obviously, and preferably a low deductible. I am also looking for a plan that would help cover motherhood once we are going to start a family. None of the plans that I have seen so far cover any of that. I have quotes from American Kinsfolk and Blue Cross/ Blue Shield. Any advice?
We don't have a Kaiser in our area unfortunately. I live in MN right now.

Heath Insurance Question?

Why, when I get a blue cross exemplify for health insurance, can they give me a rate withOUT asking about my health ?

Is it really the same price no matter if Im in perfect heath and jog 5 times a week or if I have all stripe of health problems, am hundreds of pounds overweight and am a chain smoker ?

A side question,about health savings accounts. Does one have to have earned income like with an IRA to fund them ? Or can they be funded with savings , interest proceeds

Answer: In a few states - New York comes right away to mind - the price of insurance is set by the state, and is NOT dependent on your health. I'm guessing that you live in one of those states.

Regarding the HSA, it does NOT have to be funded with EARNED proceeds.
