Question About Blue Cross Insurance Coverage And Maternity Fees?

I've had an outlet with maternity coverage with my Blue Cross PPO plan, and thought I'd post it here to see if anyone has had a similiar situation and what can be done.

Basically, I'm distressing to get Blue Cross to pay for maternity expenses for a midwife-attended childbirth. The bill is just over $5000, but BC is only paying $3500, which is the zenith in-network price that they will pay for this service for an in-network midwife.
So what can be done to get the remainder

Answer: Send a written gripe to your state's insurance commissioner's office. I agree with you, the provisions of this contract seem vague and conflicting. As a matter of contract law, the insurer cannot enforce a vague provision in it's own favor; indecisive provisions are supposed to be interpreted AGAINST the party that drafted the contract.

If the insurance commissioner's occupation finds, after an investigation, that the contract is unjustly vague, it should be able to assist.

Answer: You conscious, I've dealt with dental insurance companies for over 28 years and your guess is as good as mine! First, are you talking about alluring out a dental plan with Empire Blue Cross or a medical plan. There is a big difference.
Each plan is varied. Most dental plans will not cover adult orthodontics. The usual cut off age is 19 years old.
If you are planning on growing through your health insurance, there has to be a reason, other than aesthetics, for why you need the orthodontics

Blue Cross Insurance Coverage For Acupuncture?

I called my insurance actors today (Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield) to see if they cover acupuncture, and they said that they DO (12 treatments per year) but only for standard diagnoses. However, she wouldn't tell me which diagnoses are covered for this, and instead she said I would have to ask about a unambiguous diagnosis then she would tell me yes or no (so basically it had to be a guessing game because I assume they don't want people to find out what is covered then go to to doctor to get that

Answer: I would way the problem from a different perspective. Find an acupuncture practitioner that you feel is qualified and ask the practitioner or his or her occupation staff:

•Do you accept Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance?
•Do I file claim forms, or do you (the provider) take regard of that?
•What is the cost for an initial appointment?
•How many treatments will I need?
•Will there be any additional costs not covered by my insurance?

How Much Does Blue Cross Health Insurance Coverage Cover On Medical Expenses?

Answer: You say that, like there's only one BC insurance system. There are hundreds, about 10 in each state.

You'll have to call the number on the back of your card to see what YOUR plan costs.

Who To Contact About Insurance Coverage For Therapist Visits?

I am a full-leisure college student who has full coverage health insurance (blue cross through parents). I have decided to see a therapist but am not sure how insurance works with them. Do I prerequisite to contact my insurance provider to see if this specific therapist is covered by my insurance or do I need to contact the psychotherapist first? I obviously do not want my parents involved in this; I imagine it is more expensive than the $10 co-pay's at the doctor's job. Help!!

Answer: Ask the advisor if he/she takes Blue Cross. Then call Blue Cross to get the approval and to find out how many visits are covered.

My insurance covers 20 visits a year, BUT, my psychoanalyst writes a letter explaining why I need more help. It has always been approved.

I'm sorry you don't intuit you can get help from your parents, but you are on the right track to seek help.
