A one way Bus ticket will suffice , and as regards an airplane ticket that won't drudgery as a Passport would be required both ways , so do your entry by land travel and return to the U.S.( if seemly) by land also (Bus) !
However if you're wanting to return to the U.S I'm assuming you have a Green Card.

In California - there are 6 insurers (Blue Shield ,Anthem Blue Cross ,Collaborative Health ,Aetna, Healthnet, Kaiser )
I don't know about other states but this seems plain bad.....
