I am impressive to USA, to Detroit MI. I dont have a social security number or a US driver's license. However, I do have an international driver's allow. I have arranged to buy a car from a relative, but not sure about the insurance. I can drive any car on international license but dont grasp how I can get the insurance

Many companies want that number to run a credit check on you. People with Bad dependability are higher risk drivers. You may pay a little more, but it is not required.
