Is There A Policy/rule That Life Insurance Companys Not Give Out Information On The Beneficiary Over The Phone |
My originator just recently passed, and he told me that me and my sister were the beneficiary, but when I called, they told me that they "did not have that dope in front of them." How can I find out? Does this mean that we are not the beneficiary because they won't tell me?
I couldn't find his policy while succeeding through his stuff..so thats another reason I am unsure
| Answer: They can indeed only talk with the owner of the policy or the agent while the policy is still active because beneficiaries can be changed at any in the matter of prior to death. The only way they would know that the owner passed away is with a death certificate. Until they give entr that, they are correct in assuming he is still alive. Call back (or have the agent do it) and ask to file a death claim. I faith this process is smooth for you. |
