How Much Do You Pay For Individual/family Health Insurance?

At my trade I only pay 67.34 a month for health insurance. It is just me, single. Awesome insurance, no deductible, low co-pays etc. VERY advantageous. However, if I had 1 spouse it sky rockets to 447.71 a month, and a family, any size would be 877.11 a month. (Countless deal if you have 5 kids, not so great with 1 child)

Is everyone's insurance like this???

Answer: For my family, we pay almost $700 a month - and the outfit picks up the REST of the tab. A typical premium for a low/no deductible plan, through a group, for a family, with parenthood benefits, is going to be around $1800 a month in most states.

The reason it skyrockets, is because most employers will pay a larger piece of the insurance cost for the employee - in your case, it sounds like 80% to 90% - but they'll be kicking in only 50% for your spouse and children.

I am a check-at-home mom (in Arizona) and I need to get health insurance. My boyfriend (and our toddler) have insurance through his employer but it's like $400/month for no more than the two of them and it doesn't cover much. To add me to his plan we would have to get married first and it would be over $200/month more than he's already paying now. So that's over $600/month for insurance that doesn't dissemble much. It doesn't seem like a very good deal at all.

Answer: I'm an notwithstanding agent in AZ and there are several companies, including Blue Cross, that have policies that cover parenthood. If they are "affordable" depends on your point of view. The problem you'll find with individual pregnancy is that the insurance company, if you do the math, is not going to pay out more for your delivery than they receive from you in extra premium. A troupe policy is different because everyone on the plan, including your toddler, is paying more for your maternity

My ex has now decided that he wants to be the 1 supplying her insurance which will arrange the child support go way down. He seesm to think that child support is based on an individual stimulus rather than family. Which is it?

Answer: Well, your first egress is whether your ex can assume the cost of the insurance to lower his support obligation. If the decree says you will pay, he can't perfectly unilaterally decide to do this. He needs to go back to court to the support order revised.
