im about to buy a scooter and cant find anything on the dmv website in maryland about whether you have to rota scooters and have a license plate on one or not beofre you drive on the street ..does anybody comprehend before i call the mva whether you need to register or get licennse plate or insurance to drive one on the streets on maryland.. my bike is a wasp and goes up to 60 mph
| Answer: If your scooter goes over 40 mph you'll poverty a motorcycle license from MVA-MD. I have a Vespa (similar to a scooter) from Italy and had to get a license and plates for it (by registering it you will get the plates). Oh...and you must have insurance for it.
